In Print...

Yay! Happy February everyone!! I can't believe we're already this far into 2010 - doesn't it just seem to be flying by? Well, I thought I'd share with you some of the things we've been up to (actually this post is a little over due...)

First is our new ad in the magazine Colorado Wedding Sites & Services, which is an absolutely FABULOUS magazine. I can't even tell you how many times I used it while Eric and I were planning our wedding. It is a great reference. I highly encourage all you Colorado brides to pick up a copy (Barnes & Noble, Borders, King Soopers, etc.) or you can check out their website.

Here's a sneak peek of our ad featuring Bethany, our lovely bride from July!

And now that it's February I think it is finally safe to share our New Year's card with you... my dad told Eric that he looks like "Bagger Vance." :)

Other than that we haven't been up to much... Ok that's a BIG lie :) You'll just have to stay posted to see what Eric & Moriah Photography has in store...

Health Nuts

Ok, 'Health Nut' may be an exaggeration, however Eric and I have been taking our resolution of healthy living quite seriously. I have to say I am pretty proud of us! I was making dinner last night and had to pull out the camera because it was just so colorful. I ended up taking a few shots this morning when I was making our lovely detoxing 'green drink' for breakfast. Yes. Green. It's intense and a little hard to swallow but loaded with good stuff. We've been juicing it for a while now and I have actually grown to like it. If you can make it through the pictures I've included a recipe at the bottom of this post...

Stir Fry for dinner. We finally pulled out the cool chopsticks from our wedding registry!

Here are the ingredients for green drink...

I wasn't kidding when I said it was green... I like how it matches our logo :)

Still interested? Ok, green drink is made in a juicer. For one serving you will need:
1 Red Delicious Apple
1 Lemon
2 Stalks Kale
2 Stalks Celery
1/2 Head of Lettuce
1 Cup Spinach
Several Slices of Ginger Root

Leave all of the peels on and make sure to rinse your fruits & veggies well. Drink 30 mins before breakfast. Enjoy!

Colorado Photographers - 30th Anniversary Session

[Posted by Moriah]

I truly feel blessed when I look at my life and think of how fortunate I am to be able to do what I do and love it so. And I feel even more blessed when I think of all of the incredible people in my life who have helped me get to this place. Somedays I set out on a 'search' for the inspiration that fuels my creative journey and other days I realized that I am overwhelmed by it!

A few weeks ago I did a session for my incredible parents to celebrate their 30th anniversary. These two have been my inspiration from day one, not only encouraging my many artistic endeavors but never doubting me and always proving to me that I have the strength to accomplish anything. They are an incredible example of love and commitment for one another and a true inspiration. Thanks Mom & Dad, Congrats!

Calling Card

We've been needing business cards. So many of our clients have asked and I feel a little behind. The truth is, I was being indecisive. I wanted something truly unique and I think I've finally come up with it! I want to share them with you, but first, if you are looking for unique ideas you absolutely must check out this page. What an inspiration!

Well, here is the front of my final design:

Segovia

In January of 2005 I moved to Madrid, Spain... all by myself. No friends, no family. Just an oversized rolling duffle bag with all the personal effects that would get me through the next 5 months. I went equipped with my very first digital camera - the brand new Sony Cybershot with all of its 5.0 megapixels. That was huge then! 5 whole mega pixels!

These were the days before my aspirations of being a professional photographer but none the less, I showed a certain affinity to the art. Well, the visual diary I created with that little camera over those 5 months has laid dormant in a laptop computer that I no longer use. I have no prints or albums... just several folders sitting on the computers desktop. While going through the process of sorting these images I was pleasantly surprised by the spark of artistry I found in my photographs. I knew that I had to share some with you.

While I lived in Madrid for 5 months my new friends and I took many trips around the country. The first was our adventure to Segovia, Spain. What is so incredible about this quaint town is that expansive and towering aqueducts cut through the town like a beautiful highway system. Yes these are the Roman Aqueducts from that golden era so many centuries ago and Segovia's aqueducts are still a marvel to the modern man.

Well here is Segovia through the lens of an original cybershot!

Chrissy & Zach

Photobucket
Here is a post that I've been meaning to put up for a long time!  As some of you may know from seeing an earlier post of my brother holding his Canon HD video camera that he is a filmmaker.  Actually, he is a brilliant film maker.  He is a wise old spirit entwined with a young, vibrant, curious mind, body and outlook.  If he were not my baby brother I might be intimidated by his genius, but I know that behind that workaholic, perfectionist, persevering exterior is the most amazingly genuine and compassionate soul you could ever meet.

When he came home last summer we all had the pleasure of spending a long weekend with his best friend and college 'Rooooomie,' the lovely Ms. Chrissy.  We were so honored when they asked Eric and I to do a Best Friend Session.  We only had to walk to the edge of the neighborhood to find this classic playground where we played with the setting light.  In only a few moments we had captured these inspiring images.

Well, I hope you enjoy these photographs while Zach is busy creating something truly amazing.  Something I can't wait to share with you in the weeks to come.  Please check back to find a window to his workings.

Also, one more thing, Zach is available to capture a limited number of weddings through his videography each year.  If you are interested please inquire and I will most definitely get you in touch with him.

Enjoy!

The Puppy & The Party

This last weekend we celebrated my graduation with a fabulous party at my parents' house. Everything was so beautiful. All the decorations were my favorite colors - pink and more pink! The best part was the three tiered pink cake that Eric made for me. It was amazing!

A few days before the big event my mom surprised me by getting my puppy groomed - and quite the hair cut she did get! Her hair almost touched the ground and now it is an inch all around (excuse the rhyme). Well, I absolutely had to take a few shots of her with the pink bow they put in her hair!

My brother made a banner out of these pearly stars - the other side said 'Way to go!' with very impressive drawings of shears, combs and other hair implements!

My mom found this Barbie head that I had asked for when I was a little girl - a good indication that I might grow up to be a hairstylist!!  And there is a peek at the gorgeous cake!
